We were the world’s first industrial city. We were home to the first free public library, the first artificial waterway and the co-operative movement. We launched the first professional football league and were the birthplace of women’s suffrage and the right to vote for ordinary men.
Manchester was, and is, a place of invention, free speech, and original thought. Which is why we’ve partnered with The University of Manchester and pioneering national charity, IntoUniversity to support educational activities for young people facing disadvantage across Harpurhey and Salford.
Our support will introduce primary and secondary school pupils to higher education through a tailored programme of workshops, out of school study, aspirational coaching and mentoring, careers advice and personal support sessions.
